so, I've been sick all week, bummer dude. all I've been doing is sleeping and watching movies and Punky Brewster. awesome, you say?! yeah, pretty much.
there are some good videos on the youtube, but if you're really dedicated I would recommend renting the dvds!!
okay, this one just reminds me so much of my childhood. you know, minus the treehouse and the DRUGS! their outfits though... UGH, SO GOOD! I totally had one of those necklaces with the charms on the plastic chain... I think I still have it buried somewhere! yeah!
however, I think my fav episode so far is the one where they make a workout video. it's simply amazing.
also, I've been listening to Dungen a lot today. so good! get into it!!

this is sooo weird, but I LIKE it!! a lot! go here and listen to the song.
also, this is an interesting interview. I really like what AWK says about preparation and visualization! never really thought about it, but what DOES preparation do for us? what I mean is, in the past couple of days I've read a couple of different things from around the internets in the vein of inspiring, artistic visions and words and what not, and mostly it's people telling you to not think so much, to ACT instead of worry, to just DO instead of plan. which I think is excellent advice, especially for me, but in terms of (my own personal) preparation, is it beneficial in any way, really, or is it just worry?? visualization could actually be beneficial... I dunno about the whole cigar thing, but whatevs.
also, I've been working on a flier for a show Lovebird's playing in a couple weeks! I don't think I told you, but we officially finished our record on Monday!!!! so crazy. now it just has to be mixed, mastered, etc etc. our guitarist is going on the Warped Tour for two months so we're having a send-off show! check it out:
yeah? yeah. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I've been staring at it for the past couple of hours.
WHOO!!!
so, tomorrow is my friend/our engineer Armand's birthday and for his birthday he asked his friends to play with him in a Black Sabbath cover band. SO EXCITED TO GOOOO!!! it's gonna be rad. apparently there are wigs and costumes involved?!?!?! sweet.
I had a short but sweet job interview today... I'm not sure what the shortness means exactly, but I'm not really too worried about it. they gave me a list of questions to answer before the actual interview so it wasn't too nerve-wracking, but at the end they asked if I wanted to make a final statement, and eloquent genius that I am, I said, "naw, I'm good." and the lady just kinda stared back at me... haha! I laughed about it the whole way home. could've said, thank you, I'd make a great employee, bla bla bla, but nope! in the moment I guess I always figure it's better to not put my foot in my mouth or something?! I dunno. whatever. as much as I desperately need a job, I'm not entirely convinced this is the one for me anyway.
happy wednesday!!

"Crushing your interests, having to give up your passions, in favor of some more pared-down existence—[that’s] really the complete opposite of what life should be about. I think really what life should be about for all of us is focusing on our dreams, focusing on what we enjoy, and removing all obstacles or areas of our life that tell us to not do the things that we enjoy.
...But I really urge you most of all to understand that there is no "real world," there is no “reality,” there is no one way to do things versus another way. There's an infinite number of ways to do anything, and it's up to you to listen to that very subtle yet very clear instinct that resides deep within your soul that really makes you who you are."

especially about my friends!!! so good.
can't wait to get the new album. *sigh*
I decided today that buying new things makes me feel really awful. BFF and I went to the mall which was majorly depressing. we went to target. we ate burritos. we went to the beach. all of it felt kinda weird & off. what is it with you, mercury?!? you're driving me nuts. I then went to a different target and ended up spending most of my gift card on "essentials" like detergent and deodorant. I know I have SO much more than a lot of people out there, but I can't help but feel almost completely hopeless about money and spending it and things that require it right now. so helpless. it's awful. trying to focus on good things but sometimes it's really hard to be positive.
BUT, tomorrow we're having the first band practice in like over a month! stoked. but also, not so stoked cos not only is our drummer going on tour, but now our guitar player is also leaving at the end of the month for a different tour... our peeps are just too talented. not sure what we're gonna do yet, we have two shows booked in july but no drummer or guitarist. guess we'll talk about it tomorrow?
also, if you've ever thought about moving to California, this is why you should:
see, there's still some good in the world!
